It connects to an oxygen source such as a gas cylinder or concentrator and delivers the gas through equipment like nasal cannulas, oxygen masks, or tracheostomy tubes.</p>
<p>Flowmeters are critical in hospital, clinical, and home care settings, especially for individuals with respiratory conditions. Most devices are designed to provide precise flow control in the range of 1 to 15 L/min, as prescribed by physicians based on the patient’s health condition, age, and treatment plan. One of the most widely used types is the Thorpe tube flowmeter, which consists of a vertical calibrated tube and a float that rises with the increasing flow. Another advanced type is the digital flowmeter, which uses sensors to measure the oxygen flow rate and display it on a digital screen, offering greater precision and readability.</p>
